"Unreclaimed. Despooled. Contagious" consists of oneiric sound-collages and improvised performances with heavy emphasis on absurd, psychotic and incidental.
born from the unholy marriage of obsolete equipment, discarded samples, processing errors, and unfocused observations, the album is a liquefied travelogue, trapped in agglutinated pages of a ruined journal drenched in pine sap. Slightly deranged but harmless middle-aged Russian poet stumbles drunkenly through Ballardian Euro-zones of tourist placidity, haunted by violent visions of mass destruction, urban desolation, and psychic revolt, rendered in crude, comic-book fashion.
WOMBA is a solo project by Tikhon S. Kubov, active since 1995. It evolved from home manipulation with tapes, loops, samples, found sounds, various electronic devices and effects. First three WOMBA albums were released on R.A.I.G. label from 2004 to 2012.
"Ascending from eco-friendly fairy-tale vistas, that surround abandoned spa resorts, my progressively hollowed hero is minced and chopped up by series of inhuman special effects only to find himself awaken on a monstrous exoskeletal structure that merrily sails straight into the dilating dark void. One for the truly jolly memories!"
"…le futur de la maison: les baisers des amants et les suicides à deux et la nudité dans les chambres des belles inconnues et leurs rêves- à minuit, et les secrets voluptueux surpris par les lames de parquet."
Robert Desnos, "Si tu savais", 1926
" By the end of September the current had carried him to Bermuda. ...His head was missing now as well as one of his arms and most of both legs. His swollen body had assumed an altogether inhuman shape, a blue and red fruit with dark creases where shreds of the rubber diving suit still circled his body."
Lloyd Kropp, "The Drift", 1969
